What is Malaria-
Malaria is an infectious disease that is caused by mosquitoes through the parasite known as Plasmodium parasites that inhibit within the red blood cells of the human body. There are about five species of Plasmodium parasites infecting the human beings. Mosquitoes act as transmitters of these parasites when these mosquitoes bite the human beings. The malaria parasites are the members of the genus Plasmodium. In human beings, the malaria causing parasites are the P. malariae, P. falciparum, P. ovale, P. vivax and P. ovale. The major deaths occurring in case of malaria in humans is caused by the P. falciparum parasite and it amounts to about ninety percent of malarial deaths.
