Definition of Fat

Fat may be defined as any substance that is composed of fatty acids and lipids forming as soft pads between organs and that smoothens or rounds off in between the body contours or layers and supplying the necessary energy out of these reserves. The fat is also known as an adipose tissue in a human body. The excess of fat over the prescribed Body Mass Index or BMI in a human body is considered the sign of obesity and the person having such excess fat is known as an obese person.  Fat in normal parlance is divided into three types and these are polyunsaturated fat, saturated fat and unsaturated fat. A fat person is also known as fatty that means a person whose weight is greater than the average weight defined as per the Body Mass Index.

A back fat is a term used to describe the fat that exists in certain areas of human body in both the sexes. For example, men may have the fat deposits in their midsections of their body while women may be likely to be heavier due to fat deposits in the hips and buttocks. Some people even tend to have extra fat in the back. The back fat is visible to the naked eye in the form of bulging buttocks and bellies of the concerned person who is having back fat. A back fat looks somewhat ugly and the concerned person with back fat may feel embarrassed in certain cases.

History of back fat

The occurrence of back fat is as old as the human civilization itself. The existence of back fat can be traced to ancient history when the Roman gladiators were actually overweight vegetarians with back fat. In ancient Egypt, men with fat stomach and back fat are usually considered as wealthy and powerful. During the era of renaissance, the women were not much concerned with the weighty issues. The ideal beauty at that time was considered epicurean or luscious when such women have some back fat and are slightly overweight.

How to get rid of back fat

Having back fat at times entails a situation of shyness when the person intends to wear form fitting clothes or revealing dresses. A situation arises when it becomes necessary to get rid of the back fat due to health or fitness situations. However, the following steps as mentioned below can be taken to get rid of back fat.  If followed strictly this regime will ensure a chiseled human body and the steps involved are:

  • Lifting weights three times a week that ensures developing muscles and increasing the body metabolism thereby reducing the total body fat,
  • Training or exercising the back muscles at least two times per week.  Incorporating these exercises by engaging every section of the back muscles will help in reducing the back fat. For example, pull ups, pushups, back extensions, and stiff legged dead lifts of four sets of ten to twelve repetitions,
  •  Participating in cardiovascular intervals for four times per week will certainly help in the reduction of back fat,
  • Consuming a diet that is low in fat content like eating fish, lean meats, skinless poultry, nuts, seeds and using olive oil in the diet,
  • Frequently eating meals in the form of five to six meals per day instead of three large meals will definitely reduce the back fat in the end. Eating every three hours will keep the muscles nourished and prevent dip in blood insulin levels that normally triggers hunger pangs.

Thus, following the above-mentioned regimen will surely result in getting rid of body fat.
